INTERNATIONAL EXPERTS WILL ASSIST IN DEVELOPING ACTIVITIES AIMED AT REDUCING SHADOW ECONOMY
An agreement was signed between the SRC and French International Expertise Agency Expertise France to implement the program of technical assistance “Assistance to Armenia’s tax administration in reducing shadow economy and ensuring sustainable growth of tax revenues” at SRC. The ambassador of France to Armenia also attended the event. The program is aimed at introducing SRC’s strategy in tax sector with an emphasis on activities aimed at reduction of shadow economy. The French side will involve international experts with leading experience in fighting shadow economy to develop productive suggestions for the SRC.
Upon completing the one-and-a-half year program, it is expected to introduce effective tools for assessing shadow economy and the tax potential of economy branches, to strengthen SRC’s capacities to mobilize and analyse internal and external information as well as to improve the activity of SRC’s transfer pricing subdivision by creating comparable bases. Also, it is planned to improve the existing tax procedures by aligning them with the peculiarities of SMEs.
The program is being implemented within the agreement on financing signed between the government of Armenia and French Development Agency and will launch in September.
