In the next five years, the Armenian government will pay special attention to the issue of reducing the volume of cash transactions. On February 12, speaking at the parliament of the country, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.
According to him, research shows that the "shadow", as a rule, falls on cash transactions. In non-cash circulation, the shadow sphere is either absent or minimized. Nevertheless, as Nikol Pashinyan stated, the solution of the task will not be easy. But this decision is important to ensure the sustainability of the domestic economy.
According to the CBA, by October 1, 2018, the total volume of bankless cardless transactions reached 388 billion drams (including Internet transactions and foreign operations), ensuring a y-o-y growth of 50.3%. The share of "bank transfer" in the total volume of card transactions was about 26%, against 22% a year earlier.
