The volume of concessional short-term loans for farmers in the Ryazan region grew almost five times in comparison with the previous year - up to 21.39 billion rubles, the regional government said on Tuesday.

Prospects for the development of agriculture in the Ryazan region were discussed on July 10 by Governor Nikolai Lyubimov and Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev. In particular, the meeting focused on the implementation of investment projects in the agricultural sector in the Ryazan region, the introduction of a mechanism for concessional lending to agrarians, the development of agricultural cooperatives, and preparations for a harvesting campaign.

Governor Nikolai Lyubimov noted that in 2018 the region has significantly increased the volume of concessional short-term and investment loans for farmers.
"Since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia approved applications of organizations of the agro-industrial complex of the Ryazan region for preferential investment loans for a total of 21.39 billion rubles, which is almost five times the level of 2017," the report said. As noted by the regional government, Dmitry Patrushev appreciated the activities carried out in the region to implement investment projects in the sphere of dairy farming, poultry farming, vegetable growing, grain and milk processing.
